National Health Center Week 2023

Every August, the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC) sponsors National Health Center Week (NHCW) to celebrate and increase awareness of America’s 1,400 Community Health Centers (CHCs). National Health Center Week is an opportunity to highlight the commitment and passion of Community Health Center staff, board members, and supporters who make it possible to provide quality, comprehensive healthcare services to more than 30 million patients across 14,500 communities annually. This year, the Health Center Association of Nebraska invites you to celebrate National Health Center Week from August 6th-12th, with the goal of raising awareness about the mission and accomplishments of America’s health centers over the past five decades. This year’s theme is “The Roadmap to a Stronger America.” The celebration kicks off Monday, August 7th, 2023 at 9 am, with a formal Proclamation signed by Governor Pillen.

For over 50 years, Community Health Centers have provided high-quality, affordable, comprehensive primary and preventive health care. In 2022, Nebraska Community Health Centers served over 116,000 patients at over 70 service locations. Nebraska’s health centers truly are the safety net providers in the state; nearly one-third of health center patients are uninsured, 70% are of a racial or ethnic minority, and over 90% are low-income.

Community Health Centers, are non-profit, community-based, patient-centered organizations that have received strong bipartisan support for over 50 years. They provide primary medical, dental and behavioral health services, as well as enabling services like transportation, outreach and enrollment assistance, and translation services.

Show your support during National Health Center Week by supporting a health center in your community. To find a community health center in Nebraska visit: https://hcanebraska.org/page/FindaHealthCenter.
