CHI Health announces Tyler DeJong, MBA, will serve as the new president of St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lincoln. DeJong was named interim president of St. Elizabeth in January 2024 and will continue his duties as president starting June 24, 2024. DeJong has spent his entire career working for CHI Health, starting as a Financial Counselor in 2011 and, most recently, serving as the Vice President of Operational Finance for CHI Health Nebraska Heart and St. Elizabeth.

“Tyler has played a key role in the planning and implementation of many important projects and services, including CHI Health Pediatric Place at St. Elizabeth, the TestNebraska lab during the COVID-19 Pandemic and helping to start the first intensive cardiac rehab program in Nebraska,” said Dr. Cary Ward, President, CHI Health Midwest Market. “His history with our organization and his demonstrated commitment to our staff and patients make him a wonderful fit as St. Elizabeth’s next leader.”

DeJong grew up in Nebraska and earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Wayne State College and an MBA from Midland University. He’s actively involved in the Lincoln community, serving on the board for several area organizations including the Lincoln Chamber of Commerce and the Community Health Endowment of Lincoln.

“I’m incredibly excited for the opportunity to lead St. Elizabeth and the wonderful staff who make this hospital such an integral part of the Lincoln community,” DeJong said. “For nearly five years of my career with CHI Health, St. Elizabeth has felt like home to me. I’m eager and grateful for the opportunity to continue our mission of providing exceptional care to our patients and community.”
