Sanford Fargo and 119th Air National Guard Sign Training Agreement

Sanford Fargo and the 119th North Dakota Air National Guard have reached an agreement that allows the 119th Air Guard Medical Group to complete their annual training requirements at Sanford Fargo.

The agreement creates a formal pathway for military medical personnel to complete annual training locally with Sanford Health, providing opportunities to maintain and strengthen clinical competencies, while remaining within the Fargo-Moorhead community.

"This partnership will provide tremendous value for both organizations," said Susan Jarvis, Sanford Fargo chief operating officer. "For the 119th Wing Medical Group, it provides access to a Level 1 Trauma Center and opportunities for military medical personnel to gain experience in a civilian clinical environment. For Sanford Health, it creates opportunities to build relationships with highly trained military clinicians, strengthen collaboration with the Air National Guard and potentially develops a pipeline for future recruitment and engagement of military-affiliated healthcare professionals.

"Partnerships like this are valuable opportunities that contribute to the readiness of our Airmen," said Col. Christopher Domitrovich, 119th Wing commander. "This collaboration with Sanford Health provides the 119th Medical Group with an invaluable opportunity for our medical technicians to gain hands-on experience in a hospital setting, meeting our training requirements and strengthening the relationship with this important community partner."

Under this training agreement, the 119th Medical Group will receive clinical training for certified registered nurse practitioner, physician assistant, registered nurse, aerospace medical services technician and cardio-pulmonary specialist career fields. The training will provide Airmen opportunities to meet requirements outlined in the Air Force Comprehensive Medical Readiness Program checklists.

The 119th Medical Group provides medical support for the North Dakota Air National Guard, ensuring Airmen maintain medical readiness to perform their missions, as well as providing expeditionary healthcare support at deployed locations.
