Pettigrew Joins HRMC as Human Resources Director

HRMC is pleased to announce Jason Pettigrew has joined HRMC as director of human resources, according to Erick Larson, president and CEO for HRMC.

In his new role, Pettigrew plans, coordinates and administers policies, procedures,
and programs that relate to all phases of human resources activities, including employee relations, workers’ compensation, benefits, personnel records, compensation, recruitment, employment and leadership development.

Pettigrew has more than 20 years of human resources experience in various industries in his home state of South Dakota, as well as in Texas where he provided district HR management for Target. For the last 10 plus years, he has served as HR director at Presentation College (PC) in Aberdeen, SD.

Since 2015, Pettigrew has also been a member of the adjunct faculty at Presentation College, where he developed the Human Resource Management bachelor’s degree major and taught courses in professional development, training and employee relations. He also teaches nursing research methods for the Master of Science in Nursing degree at Presentation College.

“Jason’s variety of experience in recruitment and retention, along with his passion for leadership development and employee engagement make him a great fit to help us achieve our strategic workforce and culture initiatives and become an employer of choice,” explained Larson.

Pettigrew holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Northern State University in Aberdeen and a Master of Science in Human Resource Training & Development from Amberton University in Garland, TX. He completed a Doctor of Education in Higher Learning Education Leadership through Northcentral University in Prescott, Arizona.

“I am thrilled to be joining the HRMC team and am so glad I made this move,” said Pettigrew, who started his new role on February 14. “All of the staff and my fellow leaders have been very helpful and welcoming. I look forward to getting involved in the community and contributing to making Huron an even better place.”

Pettigrew has relocated to Huron and is looking for housing in the community. In his spare time, he enjoys reading, listening to music and watching movies. He is also a multi-medium artist, creating interactive memory books and designing digital paper.
