Essentia Health-Fargo Welcomes Infectious Disease Specialist Dr. Suha Abu Khalaf
Essentia Health-Fargo is proud to welcome Dr. Suha Abu Khalaf, who specializes in infectious disease.
“I was impressed by how everyone mentioned how they are being heard and cared for in a very positive and inviting work environment,” Dr. Abu Khalaf said regarding her decision to practice at Essentia. “They commit themselves to providing transparent communication with reliable data and set an example to create an environment of collegiality.”
Dr. Abu Khalaf received her medical degree from the University of Jordan in Amman, Jordan. She completed a residency in internal medicine and her fellowship in infectious disease at the University of Missouri in Columbia. Dr. Abu Khalaf is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
“Since medical school, I have been drawn to the field of infectious disease, likely because I found it challenging,” said Dr. Abu Khalaf. “The number of potential pathogens seems endless, and the presentations are diverse. Infectious disease requires doctors to think critically about how to treat each patient’s problem. Since our diagnostic tools include detailed history and physical examinations, this has always added additional joy to my day when I have the privilege to get to know my patients and to be closer to them.
“I look forward to practicing infectious disease at Essentia Health and being able to help many patients from all over the region.”
