Yellow Rose Week Set for June 6-10, 2022

The Suzanne Jacobson Memorial Fund (SJMF) Committee has designated June 6-10, 2022, as  Yellow Rose Week in Northeastern South Dakota.

For an individual diagnosed with a life-threatening illness, everyday expenses such as medical bills,  the cost of medications, travel related to medical care, groceries, utilities, or rent can seem  overwhelming. The Suzanne Jacobson Memorial Fund, a service of the Prairie Lakes Healthcare  Foundation, was established to help ease this burden!

Since its inception in 1999, the SJMF has provided over $452,600.00 through 824 grants. Yellow  Rose Week is the primary fundraiser for SJMF. 100% of all dollars raised is used for grants to  individuals.

The breakdown for grants in each county is as follow:

Codington County: 432 grants Clark County: 45 grants   Hamlin County: 47 grants Grant County: 71 grants   Deuel County: 44 grants Roberts County: 115 grants   Day County: 41 grants Traverse County: 3 grants   Watonwan County: 3 grants Lac qui Parle County: 5 grants   Kingsbury County: 3 grants Big Stone County: 8 grants

Brookings County: 1 grant Marshall County: 1 grant   Yellow Medicine Co. 2 grants Richland County: 1 grant   Minnehaha County: 2 grants

Please help us to support more individuals in need, by supporting Yellow Rose Week, with your  purchase of yellow roses, yellow rose decals, yellow rose yard signs or through a donation!

Grateful Patient:

One patient who received a SJMF grant reached out and said: they have been diagnosed with a  genetic disease, the same disease which has claimed the lives of several family members. Patient  writes that this grant has been extremely helpful, as the patient’s diagnosis has left the patient unable  to work. The patient has been on the transplant for 3.5 years and has been told they are getting  closer.

Every purchase of a single yellow rose not only brightens someone’s day but will bring much  needed help for someone in a medical crisis!

Yellow Rose Week pre-orders are encouraged!

Roses, decals, and/or yard signs may be purchased with a credit card online at  www.prairielakes.com/yellowroseweek, or by calling Prairie Lakes Healthcare Foundation at 605/882- 7631.
