UNMC Program Provides Student Access to Careers in Health Professions

WHAT: UNMC’s “Backstage Pass,” which offers high school and college students a free, behind-the-scenes look at various health professions, is back with its biggest event ever. This year,the UNMC College of Pharmacy is participating for the first time, joining UNMC’s Colleges of Nursing and Allied Health Professions, along with uBEATS and the Nebraska Medicine Office of Talent Acquisition. While students take part in interactive, hands-on activities, they are often accompanied by teachers, advisers, counselors and parents exploring potential health professions career paths and their respective UNMC education programs.

UNMC Truhlsen Center at the Michael J. Sorrell Center, 42nd and Emile streets

INTERVIEW OPPORTUNITIES:

  • Event organizers will speak about the importance of the event and its success as a recruitment tool into various health professions

  • Certain students will be available for interviews on why they attended and what they’ve seen.

WHY IT MATTERS:
As UNMC works to build Nebraska's health workforce, events like “Backstage Pass” introduce health profession opportunities to students who will become the next generation of Nebraska’s health care providers.
