UNMC Chancellor’s Board of Counselors Welcomes New Members
The University of Nebraska Medical Center Chancellor’s Board of Counselors has seated 25 new members from around Nebraska, welcoming them as advisors, advocates and ambassadors for UNMC.
The Board of Counselors is a statewide group of civic and business leaders who provide advice and counsel to UNMC leaders in a number of areas. They advise Interim Chancellor H. Dele Davies, MD, help UNMC foster relationships and engagement opportunities throughout the state and act as advocates for UNMC in the community.

“The Board of Counselors plays an important role,” said Interim Chancellor Davies. “UNMC’s mission is to improve the health and well-being of the people of Nebraska, and members of the board represent the Nebraska communities that we serve. Their insights, recommendations and advocacy are invaluable to UNMC leaders as we look to have the greatest impact on the state.”
Dr. Davies also expressed appreciation to members for their service. “I want to extend a warm welcome to all our new members as they assume this important role, as well as thank our outgoing members for everything they have done for UNMC, especially the board chair, Barbara Bartle, for her leadership throughout her term,” he said.
Board of Counselor members and their guests are invited to two meetings each year. Members serve four-year terms of office and can serve no more than two consecutive terms.
