Ty Eschenbaum Foundation Makes $100,000 Donation To Make-A-Wish® South Dakota & Montana

On Thursday, April 20, 2023 Ty Eschenbaum made a $100,000 donation to Make-A-Wish® South Dakota & Montana on behalf of his non-profit, the Ty Eschenbaum Foundation (TEF). Eschenbaum began raising money for Wishes for children with critical illnesses, following the sudden death of Autumn, the love of Eschenbaum’s life.

“The Foundation has a long personal history with Make-A-Wish® going back almost 20 years when I was granted a Wish as a teenager,” said Eschenbaum. Our partnership with Make-A-Wish® South Dakota & Montana allows us to personally get to know some of the toughest, gracious, and grateful kids and families. For me, this is deeply personal, this is for Autumn. Her spirit lives on through our acts and our intentional decision to live life fully, by serving others.”

Thursday’s donation was made during a check presentation at the Make-A-Wish® South Dakota & Montana headquarters in Sioux Falls, and is expected to grant nearly a dozen wishes.

“We are overwhelmed, humbled, and overjoyed at the generosity of Ty Eschenbaum and the Ty Eschenbaum Foundation presenting us with $100,000 today,” said Sue Salter, President and CEO of Make-A-Wish® South Dakota & Montana. “This donation represents a transformational gift that will be life changing for the kids we serve.”

TEF raises money through fundraisers like the upcoming The Summer Classic golf and fishing tournament, taking place June 9-10, 2023 at Lake Region Golf Club/Lake Poinsett, and the annual Earn The Gift Gala, taking place December 2, 2023 in Sioux Falls.

BACKGROUND: The Ty Eschenbaum Foundation was founded in 2011 and has grown and impacted lives in many ways ever since. From its inception, Ty has granted scholarships to youth cancer survivors, following his own battle with, and victory over, leukemia and dozens of complications in the years following. Years later, after the sudden loss of the love of his life, Autumn, the foundation began supporting Make-A-Wish® kids in her memory, as children were her passion. When Ty's brother, Calder, left us tragically in 2021, the third pillar of the foundation was established - supporting missionary causes in honor of his strong faith and inspiring work ethic.
