Tickets On Sale For JY6 Nurses Dinner Benefiting Pediatric Cancer Research

Tickets are now on sale for the 2024 Jorgen Yde (JY6) Foundation’s Nurses Dinner. The event is open to everyone, and is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. Saturday, March 23 at the Hilton Garden Inn in Downtown Sioux Falls. To purchase tickets, visit https://jy6gala24.givesmart.com/.

This annual gala celebrates nurses in the greater Sioux Falls area and names the JY6 Nurse of the Year, while raising funds and awareness for pediatric cancer research, in honor of Sioux Falls teenager Jorgen Yde, who passed away in 2011 from Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.

“This Nurses Dinner helps us to fund pediatric cancer research, in honor of my brother, Jorgen,” said Dane Yde, co-founder of the JY6 Foundation. “He never complained or asked for sympathy during his battle with cancer. He remained strong and positive. Nothing was going to bring his spirits down. Jorgen’s life has touched more people in his short 16 years than many of us will in a lifetime.”

Bridget Bennett of KELO TV will emcee the program. A raffle, silent, and live auction will be held to raise additional funds. For more information about the event visit http://jy6foundation.com/.

Jorgen Yde (JY6) Foundation Background: The Jorgen Yde (JY6) Foundation is a non-profit 501(c)(3) public charity that raises awareness and funding for pediatric cancer research and leukemia research. The foundation’s vision is to support pediatric cancer research that provides better treatments and leads to cures for leukemia and all pediatric cancers. The only request that Jorgen Yde, the namesake of the foundation, ever made was for someone to find a cure for cancer. Before Jorgen passed away, he was asked how he wanted to be remembered and how his legacy would continue. He told his family that he wanted them to help find a cure for leukemia and other childhood cancers. Jorgen prayed and hoped that one day there would be a cure for all cancers.
