Shannon Bryn Joins JRMC Athletic Training at Jamestown High School
Shannon Bryn
Jamestown Regional Medical Center (JRMC) welcomes athletic trainer (AT) Shannon Bryn to its team at Jamestown High School. Bryn will provide comprehensive care to Blue Jay athletes, including injury prevention, assessment, treatment and rehabilitation. Her addition expands the team's reach and gives student-athletes greater access to care.
Originally from Dazey, N.D., Bryn received her bachelor's degree from the University of Jamestown before completing her master's degree in athletic training at the University of Mary in Bismarck. She completed clinical training with JRMC Athletic Training as well as at Austin Peay State University in Tennessee.
Bryn especially appreciates the relationship-building that comes with athletic training at the high school level.
"There are a lot of days when athletes come into the training room and tell you about what's happening in their lives," Bryn said. "Beyond treating injuries, you become a listening ear and can offer encouragement or support."
As she begins her career, Bryn looks forward to continuing to learn from her colleagues and the athletes she serves. Like the rest of JRMC's Athletic Training team, Bryn's goal is to help student-athletes participate in the activities they love as safely as possible.
"Student-athletes' safety is our main priority," Bryn said. "If we can keep an athlete participating safely, that's what we want to do."
JRMC's ATs are available to Blue Jay athletes during school days, practices and games. Along with JRMC Orthopedics and Sports Medicine, the athletic training team covers more than 120 events each year. In 2025, Jamestown High School and JRMC received the National Athletic Trainers' Association Safe Sports School 1st Team Award, recognizing their commitment to student-athlete safety and established sports safety standards.
