Sanford Sheldon Medical Center Earns 'Deficiency Free' Survey

Sanford Sheldon Medical Center received a ‘deficiency free’ hospital survey by the Iowa Department of Inspections, Appeals and Licensing (DIAL).

In the state of Iowa, DIAL conducts surveys for critical access hospitals to determine compliance with Medicare conditions of participation (CoPs).

The DIAL surveys ensure critical access hospitals, which are rural, have 25 or fewer inpatient beds and maintain an average length of stay of 96 hours or less. This ensures these hospitals meet federal health, safety and quality standards.
