Sanford Airmed Receives Re-Accreditation For Transport Safety By Commission On Accreditation Of Medical Transport Systems

Sanford AirMed has been awarded its fourth Enterprise Program re-accreditation through the Commission on Accreditation of Medical Transport Systems (CAMTS). The accreditation demonstrates the air ambulance team’s dedication to patient care and safety.

The peer-review nonprofit organization is dedicated to improving patient care and transport safety by providing a dynamic accreditation process through the development of standards, education and services that support air medical transport.

“We know that trauma patients need emergency care fast,” said Mike Christianson, system executive director of Sanford AirMed. “Sanford AirMed gets patients to medical experts at a fraction of the time compared to ground transport. Our air ambulances serve thousands of patients each year, providing life-saving care while getting patients where they need to go safely and quickly.” 

Sanford AirMed has a fleet of eight aircraft that travel more than 400,000 miles per year, including four EC-145 helicopters and four King Air B200 fixed-wing aircraft. AirMed operates out of five bases across the Midwest, including Bemidji, Minn, Sioux Falls, South Dakota and Bismarck, Dickinson and Fargo, North Dakota.
