Glen Winekauf
The Governing Board of Trustees of Regional Medical Center (RMC) in Manchester, Iowa announced that Glen Winekauf has been selected as the next Chief Executive Officer, effective early 2027. Winekauf succeeds Danette Kramer, who will retire from RMC in late December following a dedicated and impactful career with the rural hospital.
Winekauf brings more than 20 years of healthcare leadership experience to RMC, most recently serving as CEO of Horn Memorial Hospital in Ida Grove since 2017, alongside a strong track record of executive and operational roles across rural healthcare settings.
"Following an extensive search process, the Board is thrilled to welcome Glen to Regional Medical Center," said Cathy Lilenthal, Chair of RMC's Governing Board of Trustees. "Glen's deep expertise in critical access hospital operations, paired with his focus on employee engagement and collaborative teamwork, makes him the ideal leader to guide RMC into its next chapter."
In his new role at RMC, Winekauf will oversee strategy, patient care operations and community health initiatives.
"I am honored to be chosen to lead Regional Medical Center," said Winekauf. "RMC has earned a stellar reputation for delivering high-quality care. I look forward to working alongside the dedicated board, providers, leadership team and staff to serve the community and continue strengthening local healthcare access."
Kramer will continue leading RMC through late December and will collaborate directly with Winekauf over the coming months to facilitate a seamless transition of leadership.
"We extend our deepest gratitude to Danette for her extraordinary leadership," added Cathy. "She leaves behind a strong foundation, and we wish her the absolute best in her retirement."
