Nebraska Medicine Verified as Pediatric Level II Trauma Center
Nebraska Medicine is one of only 45 hospitals in the country that is both an Adult Level I and a Pediatric Level II verified trauma center through the American College of Surgeons.
While Nebraska Medicine has always cared for both adult and pediatric patients and has been an Adult Level I trauma center since 2017, achieving Pediatric Level II trauma center verification means families that experience trauma can stay together during often stressful and uncertain times.
"By adding American College of Surgeons pediatric level II trauma verification to our already verified adult level 1 trauma center, we are not only expanding access to pediatric trauma care but also reaffirming our commitment to providing extraordinary care to traumatically injured patients of all ages in our local communities as well as across our state and region." says Emily Cantrell, MD, Nebraska Medicine pediatric trauma medical director.
Nebraska Medical Center is the only ACS-verified Adult Level I and Pediatric Level II Trauma Center in the region that admits both adult and pediatric patients.
