Mary Lanning Healthcare Appoints New President and CEO
Shanna Stofer, PharmD MHA
Mary Lanning Healthcare is pleased to announce the selection of Shanna Stofer, PharmD MHA, as President & CEO of the organization. She will begin her new position on July 13.
A native of Elkhorn, Shanna has demonstrated healthcare leadership at non-profit and for-profit hospitals and health systems, including a special emphasis on independent community hospitals within Nebraska and Iowa. She is familiar with the central Nebraska healthcare landscape and is highly regarded for her collaborative leadership, ethical stewardship and ability to guide organizations through complex change while maintaining a focus on patients, physician satisfaction and staff well-being.
Shanna has been successful in improving quality outcomes, achieving operational efficiencies, developing clinical partnerships and enhancing medical service offerings for the benefit of patients and the community.
Jeff Anderson, Chairman of the MLH Board of Trustees, shared the board’s support of Shanna’s selection stating, “The Mary Lanning Healthcare Board of Trustees was seeking a visionary leader with success in building a culture of trust, transparency and accountability; and Shanna rose to the top of over 100 applicants we received in our CEO search. Her leadership and commitment to Nebraska healthcare will build upon Mary Lanning Healthcare’s current and future position as the leading regional, independent community hospital in central Nebraska.”
Shanna attended the University of Nebraska at Kearney on a basketball scholarship. She earned a Doctor of Pharmacy Degree from UNMC and a Master of Healthcare Administration (MHA) from Bellevue University. She is an active member of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) and the American College of Health-System Pharmacists, as well as serving on the Policy Development Committee for the Nebraska Hospital Association.
Shanna and her husband, Greg, have been married for 30 years and have four adult children, along with grandchildren, who all reside in Nebraska.
