MercyOne Now Offers Free Breastfeeding Classes for Expecting Parents

MercyOne Dubuque Medical Center is offering free in-person breastfeeding classes to help expecting parents feel more prepared to reach their feeding goals.

The breastfeeding classes are led by international board-certified lactation consultants and cover the basics of initiating breastfeeding, common questions and concerns and back-to-work considerations. Moms in their second or third trimester are encouraged to take the class. 

The breastfeeding class will include a tour of the birth center. During registration, expecting parents can choose to attend only the birth center tour or both the class and the tour.

Date: Wednesday, June 10

Time: 6 p.m. – 8 p.m.

Location: MercyOne Dubuque Medical Center, 6th floor auditorium, 250 Mercy Drive, Dubuque, Iowa

Mothers in the Dubuque area can also take advantage of MercyOne’s New Mom Support Group, offering connection, education and encouragement during the postpartum journey. The support group meets every Wednesday from 1 – 3 p.m. in the 6th floor boardroom.
