Mary Lanning Healthcare Observes National Donate Life Month

A flag-raising ceremony Tuesday kicked off events at Mary Lanning Healthcare for organ donation awareness during April, National Donate Life Month.

The flag raising took place on the east side of the main MLH Tower Building on Tuesday, April 7. Members of the MLH Donor Council, including Lacie Schroer, Shayla Thamer, Donna Munsell and Lisa Brandt, attended.

Shelley Martinez, MLH Donor Council Chairman, said Mary Lanning Healthcare actively participates in donation of organs, eyes and tissues.

“Today, as we raise the Donate Life flag, we lift up the lives of all donors, we honor the generosity of donor families, we recognize recipients whose lives have been healed — changed through a transplantation — and we renew our commitment toward donor awareness and advocacy.”

On Friday, MLH staff members have been invited to wear blue and green in order to raise awareness for organ donation.
