MercyOne Clinton Launches Air Med Helicopter Service for Eastern Iowa

MercyOne Clinton Medical Center is proud to announce that Air Med services are now available in Clinton. To celebrate this significant expansion of emergency medical transportation services, MercyOne will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Wednesday, July 15, at 10 a.m.

The event will take place at MercyOne Clinton Medical Center and will also recognize the launch of a new patient transportation shuttle service designed to enhance access to care throughout the region.

The addition of Air Med 4 strengthens emergency response capabilities for Clinton and surrounding communities, providing rapid transport for patients requiring specialized or critical care. The service is an important investment in improving access to lifesaving care when time is most critical.

MercyOne is excited to partner with Air Methods, a nationally recognized leader in air medical transportation, to bring this service to Clinton. Together, Air Methods and MercyOne combine aviation expertise, industry-leading safety standards, and clinical excellence to serve patients and communities across the region.

Air Med 4 is fully staffed by MercyOne colleagues, ensuring patients receive the same high level of compassionate, patient-centered care in the air that they have come to trust on the ground.

"Air Med 4 is more than a helicopter. It is a promise," said Adam Haut, director of MercyOne Emergency Medical Services. "A promise that when our neighbors need us most, we are ready. We are investing in their safety, their health and their future."

MercyOne is proud to serve communities across Iowa through its four-base air medical program, with locations in Clinton, Des Moines, Knoxville and Mason City. MercyOne's helicopters are the fastest in the state, cruising at 180 mph to help patients receive critical care when every second counts.

Community members, local leaders and media representatives are invited to attend the ribbon-cutting ceremony and learn more about the impact Air Med 4 will have on emergency care throughout eastern Iowa.
