Mary Lanning Healthcare Earns AHA Awards for Stroke Care Excellence
Mary Lanning Healthcare recently received awards from the American Heart Association. These included recognition for outstanding stroke care — the 2026 Get With The Guidelines® Stroke Gold Plus Award and the 2026 Rural Stroke Gold Award — and Honor Roll status for stroke patients who suffer from type 2 diabetes.
Hospitals must apply to the American Heart Association in order to participate in the Get With The Guidelines® program. The stroke award goes to hospitals for their commitment to acute stroke care excellence, including intravenous thrombolytic therapy, timely hospital inter-facility transfer, dysphagia screening, symptom timeline and deficit assessment documentation, emergency medical services communication, brain imaging and stroke expert consultation. The Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll recognizes hospital that provide up-to-date, evidence-based care for patients with type 2 diabetes who are hospitalized for stroke.
