Mary Lanning Healthcare Names Rebecca Bleich Chief Clinical Officer

Mary Lanning Healthcare recently named Rebecca Bleich, MBA BSN RN-P, as its Chief Clinical Officer. She begins work on October 5.

Bleich replaces Laurie Stevens, MSN BSN RN, who served a Interim Chief Nursing Officer for the past several months. Stevens will return to her nursing director role at MLH.

Bleich recently served as Chief Nursing Officer at Northwest Medical Center in Tucson, Arizona. She began her career as a paramedic and firefighter. She worked as an emergency and ICU nurse, flight nurse, director of a telemetry unit and director of emergency services in locations across the country. She has worked in non-profit and for-profit settings, ranging from small community hospitals to large tertiary health centers. She has two grown children and relatives living in Lincoln.

Shanna Stofer, MLH President & CEO, said MLH is excited to welcome Bleich, who brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the role.

As Chief Clinical Officer, Bleich's focus will expand to overall clinical operations and non-physician staff. Her scope will include respiratory therapy, physical, occupational and speech therapy, pharmacy, laboratory and more. Her responsibilities will include patient care excellence, staff supervision, policy and compliance and strategic planning, helping the organization meet financial and patient care goals.

"Chief Clinical Officer is a more contemporary position that has been created and used in many other hospitals across the country, very successfully," Stofer said. "We feel it will work well within the culture of Mary Lanning."

Stofer said she also wants to recognize Stevens for her hard work and dedication during a time of transition.
