Longacre Named President of CHI Health Lakeside & Midlands

Mark Longacre

CHI Health announces Mark Longacre, MHA, MPT, FACHE, as the next president of CHI Health Lakeside and CHI Health Midlands hospitals. Longacre will begin June 10, 2024.

Longacre brings an extensive background in healthcare leadership, most recently serving as the Vice President of Monument Health Rapid City market including the Monument Health Orthopedic and Specialty Hospital in Rapid City, South Dakota. He’s held several healthcare leadership roles over the years, including Executive Director of Orthopedics and Neurosciences at Nebraska Medicine and Chief Operating Officer at Nebraska Orthopedic Hospital.

“I’m thrilled for the opportunity to serve as the next leader of CHI Health Lakeside and Midlands,” said Longacre. “As the only full-service hospital in West Omaha, Lakeside brings vital services to our growing population. Midlands is also essential to the community, with the first-of-its-kind Veterans Community Living Center in Papillion. I am eager to work with our dedicated staff to ensure these hospitals continue to flourish and provide the highest quality of care.”

Longacre holds a Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Nebraska, a Master’s in Healthcare Administration from Clarkson College, and a Master’s of Physical Therapy from Mayo School of Health Sciences in Rochester, Minnesota.

The Omaha Metro is familiar territory for Longacre, who practiced as a physical therapist and served as a special education teacher and wrestling coach at Millard West High School and Westside High School.

“Mark’s strong background in healthcare and his ties to Omaha make him a wonderful fit as the next leader of CHI Health Lakeside and Midlands,” said Dr. Cary Ward, CHI Health Midwest Market President. “As our community continues to grow and expand, so do our healthcare needs and services. I’m confident Mark’s leadership and experience will be invaluable to CHI Health as we look at how to best meet the future needs of our community.”

Longacre succeeds Kevin Miller, MBA, RRT, who is retiring from his role as president after 36 years
