Kearney Regional Medical Center Performs First Convergent Procedure for AFib, Pioneering Cardiac Care

Congratulations to Dr. Zane Atkins and the cardiology team for recently completing the first convergent procedure at Kearney Regional Medical Center. The convergent procedure is a hybrid treatment for atrial fibrillation (AFib) that combines minimally invasive surgery with catheter ablation.

Dr. Atkins will work in tandem with Dr. Brian Kim, electrophysiologist at KRMC, to create scar tissue in the heart and disrupt the electrical signals that cause AFib. This collaboration is a result of the new AFib Clinic being offered by Dr. Kim. For more information or to request an appointment, please call 308-865-2263 and ask for the AFib Clinic.
