HPCAI Names New Officers and Unveils 2025 Plans at Fall Conference

Last Thursday, the Hospice and Palliative Care Association of Iowa held its 2025 fall conference and 42nd annual membership business meeting. The conference topics included sessions about:

• Clinical issues

• Education for social workers

• Hospice regulations

• Leadership

The membership also honored 38 hospice volunteers during a volunteer recognition ceremony.

During the business meeting, attendees received an update on the association’s 2024 activities and a preview of 2025 activities. The slate of 2025 HPCAI board members and officers was also approved. The 2025 HPCAI board includes:

• President – Angie Meyer, Gundersen Palmer Lutheran Hospital and Clinics - Home Health and Hospice

• President-Elect – Sara Krieger, Iowa City Hospice and Visiting Nurse Association of Johnson County

• Treasurer – Jackie Brehm, Hospice of Dubuque

• Secretary – Penni Blackman, UnityPoint at Home

• Past-President – Katie Ries, University of Iowa Health Care

• Shauna Callaway, Iowa River Hospice

• Stephanie Clifton-Raridon, Generations Hospice Care

• Erin Dausel, Horn Memorial Hospital

• Erin Dykes, EveryStep Hospice

• Dianna Ferriss, WesleyLife Hospice

• Rose Franzen, Hospice of Jackson County

• Briana Hilmer, St. Croix Hospice
