Hospital Releases 2025-30 Nursing Strategic Plan

Columbus Community Hospital prides itself on living out its ICARE (Integrity, Compassion, Accountability, Respect and Excellence) values each and every day. For our patient care services team, these values are essential for providing extraordinary care and making a difference in the lives of the people we serve.

CCH's new Nursing Strategic Plan serves as a guide for the hospital's nursing practice over the next five years. It provides detailed information on the strategic planning process, strategic objective alignment and actions for each goal.

"The mission, vision and values of CCH are at the core of all that we do, and are the foundation for how nursing care is delivered," said Tawny Sandifer, chief nursing officer and vice president for patient care at the hospital. "The CCH strategic plan and the Nursing Strategic Plan are closely aligned. We are confident this plan will elevate our nursing practice, our shared governance and engagement, our care for each other and, most importantly, our compassion and care we deliver to every patient, every time."

Strategic objectives highlighted in the report include:

  • Engage nurses in recruitment and retention.

  • Engage nurses in teaching activities.

  • Encourage continuous professional development and advancement.
