Horizon Health Welcomes New Chief Operations Officer
Lori Dumke has joined Horizon Health as its new Chief Operations Officer.
Lori Dumke
For the past three years Dumke served as the Chief Operations Officer for Northland Community Health Centers of North Dakota. She was Director of Clinical and Quality Services for the Community HealthCare Association of the Dakotas for four years. CHAD is the primary care association for both North and South Dakota. Prior to that experience she worked for two years as a Clinic Nurse Manager at OneWorld Community Health Centers in Omaha, Nebraska. She was a registered nurse in the obstetrics department of Bergan Mercy Medical Center in Omaha for five years.
“We are thrilled to welcome Lori to Horizon and fill this important role in our organization,” said Horizon CEO Wade Erickson. “Lori’s past experience in administration particularly in the FQHC world makes her an ideal leader for our operations department.”
She attended Nebraska Methodist College for both her graduate and undergraduate degrees in nursing. Her Master of Science in Nursing has an emphasis on the Chief Nurse Executive role. She completed the UCLA/Johnson & Johnson Care Executive Program in 2021. The certification program is specific to executives at federally qualified health centers, of which Horizon is one. FQHCs focus on providing care to underrepresented geographic areas and populations. Horizon provides care to all patients regardless of their insurance and Medicaid status or ability to pay.
“I am committed to, and have a passion for, advocating for health equity in rural and underserved communities,” Dumke said. “Every individual, regardless of their geographic location or socioeconomic status, deserves access to quality healthcare. I am driven by the belief that through collaborative efforts and innovative solutions, we can bridge the gap and ensure that everyone has the opportunity to lead a healthy life.”
Dumke is originally from Omaha, Nebraska and currently lives in Valley Springs, South Dakota with her husband, Jordan, and their four-year-old son. They enjoy family road trips exploring rural South Dakota towns. When she’s not off adventuring, she can be found on the golf course, mowing the lawn, shopping or reading a good book.
