Essentia Health-West Fargo Clinic Welcomes Family Medicine Specialist Dr. Daniel Hoy

The Essentia Health-West Fargo Clinic is excited to welcome Dr. Daniel Hoy, who specializes in family medicine.

“I chose Essentia Health because I was drawn to a health system that is physician led and known for providing exceptional care to its patients,” said Dr. Hoy. “I had nothing but positive experiences interacting with staff and colleagues from the beginning and really felt at home.”

Dr. Hoy received his medical education from the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks. He completed his residency in family medicine and fellowship in sports medicine at Altru Health System in Grand Forks. He is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine.

“From the beginning of my medical training, I was always drawn to family medicine,” he said. “I really enjoy building relationships with patients and their families, along with the challenge of addressing the wide range of medical issues that come with working in family medicine. 

“I try to approach each patient encounter as if it were my own family member's concerns and feel it’s important for patients to feel included in their treatment plan through shared decision-making. I want patients to feel like they have a voice in their care and believe this can lead to a stronger physician-patient relationship and ultimately a better quality of life.”
