Columbus Community Hospital Introduces New Director to Lead Nutrition Services

Columbus Community Hospital (CCH) welcomes Jesse Davis as the new director of nutrition services. In this role, Davis will oversee and manage all aspects of the hospital’s food service operation, including financials, food cost, staff training and development and menu/recipe development and implementation.

“Jesse comes to us with years of experience in food service management,” said Scott Messersmith, the hospital’s vice president of human resources/operations. “He’s also an executive chef. I am really looking forward to his energy and passion for food preparation, and to seeing how he’ll transfer that to the already great team he’ll be supervising.”

With a 30-year career in the hospitality industry, Davis brings a wealth of experience to this position. He started as a dishwasher/prep cook, and worked his way up to chef manager/executive chef. He has a deep understanding of the culinary arts and operations management.

Davis started his 20-year career in managing kitchen teams and staff for the in the hospitality industry, then transitioned to health care four years ago. At CCH, he said he aims to create a positive work environment, develop seasonal menus that cater to the community's tastes and consistently deliver high-quality dining experiences for both staff and patients.

Outside of work, Davis enjoys reading, baking, cooking and writing. He is passionate about travel and exploring different cultures — particularly through their love of food. CCH is excited to welcome Davis to the team and looks forward to the positive impact he will have on the hospital’s food service operations.
