Clinics To Continue Seeing Patients Around Remodeling Of Old Lobby Area

Remodeling work will begin Monday on an older section of the Mary Lanning Healthcare Medical Office Building lobby. Due to the construction, some patients may need to use alternative entrances.

Brian Hessler, MLH Director of Engineering, announced that work will begin in front of the elevators on the north side of the Medical Office Building. The remodeling will make that section of the building mirror the new side of the building, which was recently opened.

Therefore, most clinic patients will need to enter the building from the new South Entrance (letter D on the enclosed map) or the East Entrance (letter E). The new elevators will be in service just inside the South Entrance (D).

Exceptions to this will be patients of the Hastings Pulmonary & Sleep Clinic, the MLH Wellness Department or Bryan Heart — Mary Lanning Cardiology. Those patients will need to enter the building from the North Entrance (F). Visitors and students wishing to access the MLH Education Department will take the new elevators to Second Floor and take the north elevators to the Basement.

In addition, patients of the Diabetes Program will need to enter through the North Entrance and pass through Bryan Heart — Mary Lanning Cardiology. The Diabetes Program main doors will be closed. Bryan Heart employees and signs will be available to guide patients.

Hessler said the remodeling work will take about three weeks. Meanwhile, construction continues on upgrading the link between the MOB and the main hospital building. That work is scheduled to be done this winter.

“We thank the community and our patients for their patience with the process of getting the large MOB project completed,” Hessler said. “The end result will be a convenient, updated, open space.”
