CHI Health St. Elizabeth Receives ‘A’ Grade for Patient Safety

When it comes to patient safety, CHI Health St. Elizabeth has achieved the highest Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group. As an “A” rated hospital, this means the team at St. Elizabeth sets the standard for excellence in patient care, being recognized for their ability to protect patients from medical errors, accidents, injuries, and infections.

Only five hospitals in Nebraska achieved an “A” rating from the national non-profit watchdog group. CHI Health Lakeside, CHI Health Mercy Council Bluffs, CHI Health St. Francis, and CHI Health Good Samaritan also received “A” ratings.

“Receiving these respected quality awards speaks volumes about the incredible talent and dedication within our hospital,” said Tyler Dejong, President, CHI Health St. Elizabeth. “This success is a shared one, and it inspires us all to continue striving for the very best for our patients, every single day. These quality awards are a powerful assurance for the community we serve. When you choose our hospital, you are choosing a facility rigorously evaluated and recognized for providing care that consistently meets the highest national standards. It offers peace of mind when it matters most.”

The biannual Leapfrog Safety Grade is an “A,” “B,” “C,” “D,” or “F” assigned to general hospitals across the country based on 22 performance measures. Eighty-six percent of eligible CommonSpirit Health hospitals received A or B Leapfrog safety grades, compared to 59% of hospitals nationwide.
