CHI Health Donates $30,000 to Food Bank of Lincoln Amid Ongoing SNAP Benefit Delays

With the ongoing federal government shutdown and SNAP benefits on pause, families in our community may be wondering where their next meal will come from. As area food banks see an increase in demand during this challenging time, CHI Health has committed $30,000 to support the Food Bank of Lincoln, staying true to our mission of improving the health of the people we serve.

“Having access to healthy, whole meals is vital to our overall well being,” said Tyler DeJong, President, CHI Health St. Elizabeth. “We are proud to support the Food Bank of Lincoln, as they work to ensure our community members can put food on the table. This donation will help provide meals for hundreds of families across Southeast Nebraska.”

“Support from partners like CHI Health St. Elizabeth helps us provide consistent access to healthy, nutritious food for our neighbors during these challenging times,” said Jason Pauling, Community Partnerships Director at the Food Bank of Lincoln. “Their generosity strengthens our ability to keep pantry shelves stocked and meet the growing needs across our community.”

Media is invited to join CHI Health and the Food Bank of Lincoln for a check presentation on Friday, November 7th, at 3:30 p.m., where representatives from both organizations will be available to talk about this important cause and ways community members can help during this time.

CHI Health has also committed $70,000 to the Food Bank for the Heartland, putting total contributions at $100,000.
