CHI Health announces Dennis Bierle, MHA, as the next president of CHI Health Creighton University Medical Center-Bergan Mercy. Bierle will begin July 8.

Bierle brings a wealth of experience to CHI Health’s flagship academic medical center and Level I Trauma Center. He has a deep understanding of the Omaha health care landscape, most recently working at Children’s Hospital as the Vice President of Ambulatory Services and Primary Care. Prior to that role, he served as Nebraska Medicine and UNMC Physicians’ chief operating officer. He was also previously the chief operating officer of Banner Medical Group in Phoenix, Arizona.

Bierle earned a master’s degree in health care administration and management from Bellevue University and holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Dakota State University.

“I am honored to have been selected to join such an outstanding organization with a bright future,” said Bierle. “I am excited about the potential opportunities for CHI Health CUMC-Bergan Mercy and am looking forward to working alongside the talented team and continuing to build on the great foundation they’ve built.”

“Dennis’ extensive experience in health care administration combined with his strong leadership skills, knowledge of Omaha, and commitment to our mission make him the perfect fit for this role,” said Dr. Cary Ward, CHI Health Midwest Market President. “I am confident Dennis will lead CHI Health CUMC-Bergan Mercy to continued success for years to come and contribute to our partnership with Creighton University.”

Bierle takes on the role of president for interim president, Julie Goebel, who has filled the position since February 2023.
