Columbus Community Hospital to Present Spring Diabetes Technology Expo
People who have diabetes will receive a unique opportunity to learn more about monitors, pumps and other devices during Columbus Community Hospital’s Spring Diabetes Technology Fair.
The event will take place on Wednesday, April 2, from 5-7 p.m. in the hospital’s Platte and Prairie rooms.
“We are excited to be able to offer this event to our community,” said Joan Plummer, a diabetes health and wellness educator at Columbus Community Hospital.
This free event will offer information about continuous glucose monitors, insulin pumps and smart pens. “Continuous glucose monitors and automated insulin delivery have been proven to increase the time in range for those with diabetes,” said Plummer. “We want people with diabetes to know they have options when it comes to managing their condition. There are many new and innovative technologies available that can help people with diabetes live healthier and more fulfilling lives.”
The fair will feature a variety of educational sessions and exhibits. Companies currently planning to attend include Dexcom, Tandem, Medtronic, Omnipod, Abbott-Libre, Total Medical Supply, Diabetic Equipment and Supply and NovoNordisk.
Attendees will be able to meet with representatives from leading diabetes technology companies and ask questions.
In addition to the educational sessions and exhibits, the fair will also feature a light meal. This will allow attendees to network with other people who have diabetes and learn from each other's experiences.
