Augustin Honored as Mary Lanning Healthcare Employee of the Year

One of the first faces patients see at the Morrison Cancer Center is Patient Representative Lori Augustin. Recently, Lori was honored as the Mary Lanning Healthcare 2025 Employee of the  Year for her outstanding work with patients and their families.

Augustin, who has worked at MCC for 13 years, was nominated by a patient who started appointments at MCC in 2010. The patient noted the “personal touch” Lori takes when greeting patients,  and how she tries to learn more about them than just the fact that they have cancer.

The nominator collected breast cancer patches from police stations throughout the United States.  Lori made it her mission to seek out a special patch from Texas to help the nominator complete her  collection.

Lori’s gift “just gives you an idea of what kind of personal touch she just places on  everybody when she goes to work,” the nominator wrote.

MLH chooses one Employee of the Year from a pool of 12 people who have received recognition as  an Employee of the Quarter during the past year. The Mary Lanning Council chooses the Employees  of the Quarter based on nominations from patients and staff. The MLH Executive Team chooses the  Employee of the Year.
