Sanford Children's Launches Airwaves for Kids Broadcast of Hope
Sanford Children's Hospital in Bismarck, the Sanford Health Foundation and Townsquare Media are partnering for the inaugural Airwaves for Kids Broadcast of Hope, a day-long radio fundraiser dedicated to supporting children and families across central and western North Dakota.
The event will broadcast live from the lobby of First International Bank & Trust in Bismarck on Thursday, Sept. 10, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. on US 103.3, HOT 97.5, Cool 98.7, and the Walleye 96.5.
Throughout the day, listeners will hear inspiring stories of hope, resilience and healing from local children, families, caregivers and healthcare professionals. The event will raise funds for Sanford Children's, helping ensure young patients receive the care and support they need close to home.
"Every child deserves access to the best possible care, especially during some of life's most difficult moments," said Sara Haugen, vice president, Sanford Bismarck Foundation. "The Airwaves for Kids Broadcast of Hope gives our community an opportunity to come together and make a meaningful difference for children and families facing medical challenges right here in North Dakota."
Funds raised during the event will help cover medical expenses not paid by insurance, enhance programs such as Child Life services and pediatric therapies, and provide life-saving medical equipment. Most importantly, 100% of every donation will stay local, directly benefiting children and families served by Sanford Children's across central and western North Dakota.
Community members can support the effort by becoming a Children's Champion during the broadcast. Champions pledge $20 per month for 12 months by calling 701-751-8200 on Sept. 10. Donations can also be made by texting KIDS to 50432 or by donating online at bismarck.sanfordhealthfoundation.org.
The community is encouraged to tune in throughout the day to hear firsthand stories from local families and learn how their support helps transform lives.
The Airwaves for Kids Broadcast of Hope is made possible through the generous support of community sponsors, including Marathon Petroleum, First International Bank & Trust, HA Thompson & Sons, Daniel Companies, Puklich Chevrolet, Starion Bank, MDU Resources Foundation, BNC National Bank and Gusaas Sign Company.
