Columbus Community Hospital (CCH) is proud to announce its ongoing  commitment to economic development and regional well-being. The hospital's fiscal year 2024 results  demonstrate its continued growth, positive impact on the local economy and dedication to serving the  community. 

"As one of the larger employers in town, we have a substantial revenue impact, and our employees are  actively contributing to the betterment of the Columbus community,” said Michael T. Hansen, president  and CEO of Columbus Community Hospital. “We are proud to be a major employer in the area, providing  employment opportunities for hundreds of individuals.” 

CCH expanded its workforce during the year, employing a total of 944 individuals. This included 583 full time employees and 361 part-time, temporary or per diem staff. Additionally, the hospital utilized  contracted labor, totaling 49,385 hours, or approximately 23.75 full-time equivalents. 

"A thriving hospital requires a thriving community, and vice versa,” said Chad Van Cleave, the hospital’s  vice president of financial services. “A formidable workforce is crucial for the expansion of our services.  This includes supporting local businesses in Columbus, which promotes the city's growth and  development." 

The hospital's growth not only provided employment opportunities for local residents, but it also  stimulated economic activity in related industries, such as health care services, retail and hospitality. 

“The recent expansions, such as the Columbus Fieldhouse, have been instrumental in drawing  individuals to the area,” said Hansen. “These expansions have not only created new recreational  opportunities, but have also boosted local businesses and tourism.” 

A recent analysis revealed the significant economic contributions of CCH to the region. This economic  activity had a ripple effect on the local economy, stimulating business growth, creating additional  opportunities and contributing to overall prosperity. 

Moreover, CCH played a vital role in supporting local government services through its tax contributions.  In fiscal year 2024, the hospital paid $55,673 in real estate taxes, $127,578 in sales taxes and $2,633,390  in state income taxes. These contributions directly supported essential community services, such as  schools, public safety and infrastructure. Beyond its economic impact, CCH is dedicated to investing in the community. The hospital has a long history of supporting local initiatives and organizations,  contributing to the overall well-being of the region. 

CCH actively seeks partnerships and collaborations with other organizations to enhance its impact on  the community. These partnerships have included collaborations with local businesses, schools and non profit organizations to promote health and wellness. CCH has embraced innovative approaches to  health care delivery so it can improve patient outcomes and enhance access to care. These initiatives  have included the implementation of advanced technologies, the development of specialized care  programs and the expansion of telehealth services.
