Yellow Rose Week Set For June 5-9, 2023

The Suzanne Jacobson Memorial Fund (SJMF) Committee has designated June 5-9, 2023, as Yellow Rose Week in Northeastern South Dakota.

For an individual diagnosed with a life-threatening illness, everyday expenses such as medical bills, the cost of medications, travel related to medical care, groceries, utilities, or rent can seem overwhelming. The Suzanne Jacobson Memorial Fund, a service of the Prairie Lakes Healthcare Foundation, was established to help ease this burden!

Since its inception in 1999, the SJMF has provided over $480,000.00 through 849 grants. Yellow Rose Week is the primary fundraiser for SJMF. 100% of all dollars raised are used for grants to individuals.

The breakdown for grants in each county is as follows:

Codington County: 447 grants Clark County: 47 grants

Hamlin County: 47 grants Grant County: 72 grants

Deuel County: 44 grants Roberts County: 120 grants

Day County: 41 grants Traverse County: 3 grants
