Yellow Rose Week Set for June 2-6, 2025
Celebrating 26 years, the Suzanne Jacobson Memorial Fund (SJMF) Committee has designated June 2-6, 2025, as Yellow Rose Week in Northeastern South Dakota.
For an individual diagnosed with a life-threatening illness, everyday expenses such as medical bills, the cost of medications, travel related to medical care, groceries, utilities, or rent can seem overwhelming. The Suzanne Jacobson Memorial Fund, a service of the Prairie Lakes Healthcare Foundation, was established to help ease this burden!
Since its inception in 1999, the SJMF has provided over $589,000.00 through 924 grants. Yellow Rose Week is the primary fundraiser for SJMF. 100% of all dollars raised are used for grants to individuals.
The breakdown for grants in each county is as follows:
Codington County: 496 Clark County: 50
Hamlin County: 49 Grant County: 72

SJMF was established by Suzanne Jacobson’s friends and family, to continue to positively impact the lives of those in need, just as Suzanne did through her care and professionalism during her many years of service as a physician’s assistant, before her passing in 1998.
