UnityPoint Health – Sioux City Appoints New Chief Medical Officer
UnityPoint Health – Sioux City is pleased to announce the appointment of Eldo Frezza, MD, MBA, FACS as the regions new Chief Medical Officer, effective August 8, 2022. Dr. Frezza joins the leadership team at UnityPoint Health – Sioux City with more than twenty-two years of experience as a general surgeon and more than ten years of experience in administrative roles.

Dr. Frezza has held executive leadership roles in areas of quality, utilization management, supply chain, risk management and ethics and professionalism. He comes to us most recently from Nashville, TN where he served as the Chief of Utilization Management and Medical Director of Surgery for Nashville General Hospital.

Dr. Frezza earned his medical degree from the University of Padua School of Medicine in Italy. He completed his internship at Howard University Hospital & School of Medicine in Washington, D.C., and general surgery residencies at the Morristown Memorial Hospital in Morristown, N.J. and Staten Island University Hospital in Staten Island, N.Y. He holds fellowships in advanced laparoscopic surgery, hepatobiliary surgery and colorectal surgery. He obtained his MBA at Texas Tech University, Rawls school of business.
In his free time, Dr. Frezza enjoys living an active and healthy lifestyle as well as spending time in nature and traveling.
