The Iowa Clinic Introduces “Walk-In Wednesdays” for Foot and Ankle Care
The Iowa Clinic is introducing Walk-In Wednesdays, a new weekly opportunity for patients to receive convenient, expert foot and ankle care with no appointment required.
Beginning January 28, every Wednesday from 7:30 am to 1:00 pm, patients can walk into The Iowa Clinic’s Podiatry department in West Des Moines for evaluation and treatment of common concerns, injuries, and pain.
Walk-In Wednesdays make it easier for patients to address foot and ankle issues early before they become more serious or affect long-term mobility. Patients can be evaluated for heel and sole pain, ankle injuries, toe and toenail issues, and other foot and ankle conditions. Foot and ankle pain is widespread and often goes untreated, affecting an estimated 17–42% of adults. Despite the impact on daily life, only about 27% of people with foot or ankle discomfort seek medical care.
“Our goal is to remove barriers to care and provide timely access to specialists,” said Dr. Alivia Passet, DPM. “Foot and ankle issues can quickly impact mobility and quality of life. Walk-In Wednesdays allow patients to be seen sooner, get answers faster, and begin treatment right away.”
During Walk-In Wednesdays, patients have access to:
Same-day care from podiatrists and foot & ankle specialists with no appointment required
On-site imaging, including X-rays, when needed to support faster diagnosis and treatment
Quick evaluation for urgent (non-emergency) concerns before they become bigger problems
Direct access to foot and ankle surgeons and specialty providers for seamless follow-up care
By offering walk-in availability, The Iowa Clinic aims to reduce delays in care, improve outcomes, and provide a convenient alternative to emergency rooms or waiting weeks for an appointment.
