WHAT:
Lung Cancer Awareness Day at The Iowa Clinic to promote early detection, education, and resources for lung health. November is Lung Cancer Awareness Month.
“At The Iowa Clinic, we’re proud to raise awareness and educate our community on the importance of screening and prevention. Events like this bring us together to support patients and encourage proactive care,” says Dr. Samantha Danielson, Pulmonologist, and Critical Care Specialist at The Iowa Clinic.
The event will feature:
American Lung Association, including information on lung cancer screening assistance and the Saved by the Scan eligibility quiz, helping individuals determine if they should consider a low-dose CT scan for lung cancer screening.
Physician demonstrations of the ION Robotic-Assisted Bronchoscopy Simulator, a cutting-edge technology used in minimally invasive lung procedures.

“The American Lung Association in Iowa is excited to partner with The Iowa Clinic for Lung Cancer Awareness Month, including the upcoming event on November 13th,” said Heather Johnson, Development Director for the American Lung Association. “Early detection saves lives, in Iowa there are an estimated 2,490 new cases of lung cancer each year. This community event is a phenomenal way to educate more Iowans on how lung cancer screening can save lives.”
