The Iowa Clinic Appoints Brian Dieter as Board Advisor

The Iowa Clinic has appointed Brian Dieter as a Board Advisor, bringing decades of healthcare leadership experience to support the organization’s continued growth and strategic direction.

Dieter recently retired as President and CEO of Mary Greeley Medical Center, where he led the organization for more than 15 years and helped guide major initiatives focused on quality, patient safety, and operational excellence. Under his leadership, the organization reorganized operations around quality and safety, earning the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award in 2019 and achieving ANCC Magnet Recognition Program designation for nursing excellence.

He was also honored with the Harry S. Hertz Leadership Award from the Baldrige Foundation, recognizing leaders who demonstrate outstanding commitment to performance excellence and organizational improvement.

In his advisory role, Dieter will provide strategic insight and guidance to The Iowa Clinic’s Board, drawing on his experience advancing quality initiatives, strengthening organizational performance, and fostering cultures focused on patient-centered care.

“I am excited to assist the Board of The Iowa Clinic as an external advisor,” said Dieter. “This is a unique role, and I’m honored by the opportunity to support an organization that is deeply committed to high-quality, patient-centered care.”

Dieter holds a Bachelor of Science in Business (Accounting) from Indiana University and a Master of Science in Administration from the University of Notre Dame, where he graduated summa cum laude. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and has served in numerous leadership roles within healthcare and community organizations across Iowa.
