Sanford Health Expands Assisted Living and Memory Care Services in Rapid City
Good Samaritan – part of Sanford Health and the nation’s largest not-for-profit provider of senior care and services – has expanded access to new senior care services at Unity Place at Good Samaritan– St. Martin Village. The former St. Martin Monastery on campus has been renovated into 22 assisted living units and 10 memory care assisted living units.

The American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL) announced that seven South Dakota Good Samaritan Society locations received the 2023 Bronze – Commitment in Quality Award.
Celebrating National Assisted Living Week “Joyful Moments” Theme For 2022
America’s assisted living communities will participate in National Assisted Living Week® (NALW) September 11-17, 2022. The national observance begins each year on National Grandparents’ Day and honors the individuals who reside, work, and volunteer in assisted living (AL) and residential care communities. It was created by the National Center for Assisted Living in 1995 to recognize the role of AL in caring for America’s seniors and individuals with disabilities. The annual observance helps educate members of the public about this distinct aspect of long-term care.

TR: When I left the corporate job after 12 years, I had some time to think about what I wanted to do next. My wife’s aunt had end stage cancer at the time, so I spent some time visiting with her. Her family was taking her to all her appointments and helping her and it was hard since it was planting time. When I found out about Visiting Angels, I thought, ‘Wow, this company is doing essentially exactly what I was doing’ and it came full circle. I could see there was a need for this.
