Strengthening Hearts, Enriching Lives — It’s What We Do

At Columbus Community Hospital, community is more than a name — it’s a commitment to your family’s well-being. That’s why our hospital is proud to offer emergency medicine and comprehensive heart care close to home.

In our emergency department, our skilled doctors and nurses are ready to address your immediate medical needs, 24/7. As a Level III Trauma Center, we offer immediate access to specialized care, guaranteeing you’re in good hands when every second matters.

“If you experience a heart attack, stroke or other emergency, we have the tools and expertise to give you the right treatment,” said Dr. Mark Howerter, chief medical officer for the hospital.

With our new cardiology clinic and state-of-the-art cardiac catheterization lab, we focus on your heart health. Our expert team is dedicated to providing quick and effective treatments —  ensuring you receive the best care even after you leave the hospital. The two-step recovery process we offer through our cardiopulmonary rehabilitation department helps you regain function and learn to live life in a heart-healthy way.

“It used to be that having a heart attack in Columbus was a dicey situation that was largely dependent on the weather,” Howerter said. “If the weather permitted and we could fly the patient out to an available cath lab, you would do better. If the weather did not allow such transport, they may not do as well. Now, we can care for those patients right here, and much more quickly, when every minute and better heart function is on the line. “

Join our community-focused approach to heart care, where your well-being is always our priority. Trust Columbus Community Hospital to provide the advanced care you need, backed by a commitment to your heart’s health and happiness. Experience firsthand why community truly is our middle name.
