State Of Minnesota Declares February 22, 2024, As Heart Valve Disease Awareness Day

The State of Minnesota has officially proclaimed February 22, 2024, as Heart Valve Disease Awareness Day, marking a crucial effort to raise awareness about this widespread health concern. 

Heart Valve Disease Awareness Day serves as a vital initiative aimed at educating the public about the prevalence, symptoms, and prevention of heart valve diseases. The official proclamation underscores the state's commitment to proactive heart health measures, encouraging citizens to understand the importance of early detection. 

Heart valve disease affects millions globally, and with this official designation, Minnesota aims to spotlight the condition, urging citizens to prioritize their cardiovascular health and seek timely medical attention when necessary.

  • More than 25,000 deaths are attributed to valve disease in the U.S. each year.

  • More than 84 million people around the world are impacted by heart valve disease. 

Various events and activities are planned across the state to commemorate Heart Valve Disease Awareness Day. In conjunction with this, Rock from the Heart, a leading health advocacy organization, will be hosting an Aortic Health Symposium and Benefit Concert on February 23-24. This event aims to further educate the community on aortic health, featuring expert speakers and raising funds to support heart health initiatives. 

The proclamation reflects the state government's dedication to public health and acknowledges the impact of heart valve disease on individuals and communities.
