Spotlight on Sheila Vondrak, RN, BSN, Iowa Healthcare Leaders Association Board Treasurer

Sheila Vondrak, RN, BSN, brings a unique blend of clinical expertise and administrative acumen to her role as Treasurer on the Iowa Healthcare Leaders Association (IHLA) board. As Administrator at Siouxland Women's Health Care, PC, Vondrak exemplifies the evolution of nursing leadership in today's healthcare landscape.

Vondrak's healthcare journey started with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Creighton University in Omaha, laying the foundation for what would become a distinguished career in women's healthcare. Starting as a staff RN in the ICU, she gained invaluable hands-on experience in critical care before transitioning into a supervisory role in 2009. This progression prepared her well for her current position as office administrator, a role she assumed in 2021.

Her connection to IHLA began during her transition to administration. "As I was training in my current administrator role, I was asked to be a member on the Payer Relations Committee and have been involved ever since," Vondrak explains. "This group has vast experience and incredible minds. I love the collaboration."

That collaborative spirit has made Vondrak an integral part of IHLA's leadership structure. As current Treasurer, she brings financial stewardship to the organization while actively participating on the Payer Relations, Finance, and Bylaws Committees. Her multifaceted involvement demonstrates her commitment to both the operational excellence and strategic direction of IHLA.

Vondrak's dedication to healthcare leadership is matched by her commitment to agriculture and community. She says her family farms "on the side" and regularly makes the rounds in the Show Cattle circuit.

Through her service on the IHLA board, Vondrak continues to champion the organization's mission of enhancing healthcare services throughout Iowa, bringing both her clinical background and administrative expertise to benefit healthcare leaders across the state.
