SDAHO Leadership in D.C.: 2026 Federal Priorities Now Available

Recently the SDAHO leadership team was on the ground in Washington, D.C., for the American Hospital Association Annual Membership Meeting and the LeadingAge Leadership Summit, representing South Dakota’s hospitals, post-acute care providers, and the communities they serve.

In addition to the conference, Tim Rave, President/CEO; Justin Hinker, VP of Post-Acute Care; and Jacob Parsons, Director of Advocacy and Reimbursement, met directly with our congressional delegation to discuss the unique challenges facing South Dakota health care and to ensure our members’ voices are heard at the national level.

“Connecting directly with our congressional delegation is an important part of our advocacy work,” said Tim Rave, President/CEO of SDAHO. “These conversations help us share the real-world challenges our members are facing and reinforce the need for policies that support access to care, workforce stability, and the future of health care in South Dakota.”

SDAHO has also posted its 2026 Priorities for Federal Policy on our advocacy webpage, giving members easy access to the key issues guiding our federal engagement this year.

“We want our members to know that these priorities are available through our advocacy webpage, and we are proud to advocate on behalf of our members and the future of health care in South Dakota,” said Jacob Parsons, Director of Advocacy and Reimbursement. “These priorities reflect the issues that matter most to our facilities, our workforce, and the patients and residents we serve every day.”

The 2026 federal priorities focus on protecting essential health care funding for Medicare, Medicaid, CHIP, and the Health Insurance Marketplaces; opposing additional payment cuts; ensuring adequate Medicaid reimbursement; protecting the 340B Drug Pricing Program; strengthening the health care workforce; and advancing policies that support cybersecurity, disaster preparedness, and responsible innovation.

SDAHO is proud to represent our facilities and communities as we advocate for the future of care in South Dakota.
