Scrubs Camp Offers Students Hands-On Healthcare Experience

Freeman Regional Health Services is excited to announce the return of Scrubs Camp for high school students interested in exploring careers in healthcare. The program will take place from on Wednesday, April 26, 2023 from 8:15 am – 1:00 pm at Freeman Jr. Sr. High School.

Scrubs Camp provides an opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience in various healthcare fields, including nursing, physical therapy, behavioral health and radiology. The camp's curriculum is designed to introduce students to the fundamental principles and practices of these professions through a combination of lectures, simulations, and practical exercises.

Participants will work alongside licensed healthcare professionals and learn about different healthcare careers, the education and training requirements for these professions, and the daily responsibilities of healthcare providers. They will also learn valuable teamwork and communication skills, which are essential for success in any healthcare setting.

The camp is open to all high school students who have an interest in pursuing a career in healthcare. No prior experience is necessary, and students from all backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

"Scrubs Camp is a unique opportunity for students to explore their interest in healthcare and gain hands-on experience," said Michelle Neuharth, the organizer of the Scrubs Camp. "We believe that this program will help students make informed decisions about their future careers.”

Registration for Scrubs Camp is now open, and interested students can apply by visiting www.freemanregional.com/scrubscamp23. The deadline for applications is April 14, 2023.
