Sanford USD Medical Center Named to Becker's 100 Great Hospitals
Sanford USD Medical Center has been named to the Becker's Healthcare list of 100 Great Hospitals in America. The Sioux Falls medical center is the only hospital in the state of South Dakota to be named to the list.
Sanford shares the list with healthcare systems of high caliber across the country, including Cleveland Clinic, Johns Hopkins Hospital and Mayo Clinic.
"This achievement is a combination of hard work, a passion to continue achieving top safety and quality measures and a dedicated team of caregivers who put patient care at the forefront of the work they do," said Andy Munce, president and CEO of Sanford Health in Sioux Falls. "Patients trust us at some of the most difficult moments of their lives, and our team steps up and truly makes a difference for these patients and their families. We cannot do it alone; it is truly a team effort."
Hospitals on the list are recognized based on clinical excellence, patient safety, innovation efforts, research, medical education and other qualities. Recently, U.S. News & World Report ranked Sanford USD Medical Center as the No. 1 hospital in South Dakota for the sixth consecutive year.
The Becker's Hospital Review editorial team selected hospitals for inclusion based on analysis of ranking and award agencies, including U.S. News & World Report's rankings, Newsweek, Healthgrades, CMS star ratings and others.
