Sanford Sheldon Medical Center Recognized For High-Quality, Post-Stroke Care
Sanford Sheldon Medical Center has been recognized by the American Heart Association Iowa for their dedication to improving care for stroke patients through the American Heart Association’s Mission: Lifeline Stroke Post-Acute Care initiative.
Sanford Sheldon is one of 24 facilities across the state of Iowa that has been recognized for their commitment to this initiative.
“We are honored to be recognized as a leader in high-quality, post-stroke care by the American Heart Association Iowa,” said Rick Nordahl, senior director of Sanford Sheldon. “This recognition reaffirms Sanford Health’s leadership in rural health care by providing the expert care that patients need, close to home.”
The Mission: Lifeline Stroke is the American Heart Association’s national initiative to transform stroke care by focusing on connecting all components of acute stroke care into a smoothly integrated system that reinforces use of evidence-based guidelines, measures performance, identifies gaps, and engages in improvement projects at a systems level.
